Plumbing and drainage projects — kitchen or bathroom drain relocation, shower drain installation, toilet relocation, laundry room plumbing, sewer line repair access, water line access, floor drain installation, drainage systems, ADU utility prep, home remodels, and commercial tenant improvements — often need a trench cut through an existing slab. The same applies to electrical and utility work: conduit, communication lines, utility sleeves, landscape lighting and irrigation sleeves, or commercial utility upgrades.
Trench dimensions, depth, and final layout are confirmed against project plans or by the licensed plumber, electrician, or utility contractor before we cut — not guessed on the spot.

Cutting concrete inside a home for kitchen or bathroom remodeling, garage conversions, ADU construction, laundry room plumbing, drain and slab repairs, or new utility routes takes real preparation. We're working around finished floors, cabinetry, and everyday life, not an open jobsite.
Depending on the project, that means splash protection, barriers, wet-cutting methods, vacuums, ventilation, and controlled removal to manage the work area. We use honest language here: this reduces airborne dust and protects nearby surfaces, but no method is completely dust-free.

For sidewalks, saw cutting isolates cracked panels, raised sections from tree root damage, trip hazards, and drainage problems before removal — instead of breaking out concrete well beyond the damaged area. Public sidewalk and right-of-way work can involve permits, traffic control, inspections, and city-specific standards; we don't assume every sidewalk repair is automatically code-compliant, we confirm it for your location.

Make controlled, accurate cuts, then break out, load, and haul away only the designated concrete.
STEP 04
Excavate, coordinate & restore
Prep the trench, let the plumber, electrician, or inspector complete and approve their portion, then backfill, compact, and restore the concrete when that's part of the job.

Controlled cutting vs. uncontrolled demolition.
A controlled saw cut creates a cleaner demolition boundary, less damage to the surrounding concrete, more accurate trench dimensions, easier removal, and better preparation for restoration afterward — with less unnecessary demolition and better control around finished areas nearby.
That said, saw cutting isn't automatically cheaper, faster, or completely dust-free in every situation — the right method depends on the specific project, and we'll tell you which approach actually fits yours.

Underground utilities must be identified before exterior excavation, typically through DigAlert. Public marking doesn't identify every private line, so private locating may also be needed.
Post-tension & structural slabs
Post-tension slabs require scanning, plans, and qualified evaluation before any cutting — never cut blindly. Structural slabs, foundations, and suspended slabs may require engineering review.
Permits & concealed conditions
Permit and inspection requirements vary by project and jurisdiction. Unknown reinforcement, pipes, conduits, or slab thickness discovered during the job can affect scope and price.
